Youth Baseball/Softball Development Program
For Ages 8U, 9U, and 10U
⚾ Program Overview
The Lab Rats is a developmental team built to nurture young baseball and softball talent. We aim to form three teams (8U, 9U, and 10U), with 12–15 players each, and provide them with consistent opportunities to learn, grow, and compete in a fun, structured, and supportive environment.
📅 Program Details
Spring/Summer Season: Competes on the COYBL schedule
Team Practices: Held once weekly on weekends (Saturday or Sunday)
Monthly Classes at The Lab:
Members may attend four (4) classes per month at Curl’s Corner Hitting Lab, our state-of-the-art home training facility
💪 Player Development Leadership
Led by Ryan Curl, a proven trainer with years of experience developing top talent. Ryan has helped over 25+ athletes reach the college level—with some advancing to play professionally—and has coached players selected for District All-Star Games and elite travel programs.

💰 Investment
Annual Fee: $1,250
This covers the full program, including team practices, COYBL participation, monthly training access at The Lab, gear, and development under high-level coaching.

A portion of every Lab Rats registration goes directly to BASEEball & Co., a nonprofit co-founded by Ryan Curl and Ronnie Dawson.
BASEEball & Co. stands for:
Building Athletes, Shaping Excellence & Equity (B.A.S.E.E.)
It provides:
Access to professional baseball training for underserved youth
Mentorship from elite athletes
Essential equipment: bats, gloves, cleats, and more
Character-building programs designed to grow great players—and even better people

We’re building something special for the 2026 season—and we’re looking for driven, coachable athletes ready to grind, grow, and compete.
🎯 Head Coach: Kyle Tisdale
Kyle brings 18+ years of experience, including a standout collegiate career as a catcher at Ohio Dominican University under Coaches Paul Page and Christopher Antonides. He earned all-conference and all-regional honors, and now pours that knowledge into developing the next generation.

Required off-season strength & agility training
Fall/Winter athletes must attend weekly skill lessons

Expect 8–10 weekend tournaments, wrapping by mid-July (weather permitting)
